Halloween Spirits

Well its that time of the year again, where all the ghouls and goblins come out and roam the land of the living. I should have stayed in bed apparently. Either way I was down at The Hobbit ' our local game shop', and picking up a 25 g brush for some detail work that needed done and the owner told me of their Halloween competition they were having. Sweet! Painting competitions!
Rules where, the figures have to be of Reaper Design and thats it.

So here I was meandering around the Reaper section, trying to figure out what I should paint, but nothing seemed to pop out at me. After about giving up hope, I found this one packet all by itself...EUREKA! This was it! Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf. If that dont scream Halloween, I dont know what does.

Already started on the lass, and when I get them painted up and on their small diorama base I will post some pics. Till then, Ciao.

Also why trolling the forums over at http://www.lead-adventure.de/ There is a competition, a Transportation build off. Some interesting rules, while kits are allowed, but only in moderation, you must scratch build most of the model. Groovy. For sometime I had a great transport devise in mind for my fantasy dwarfs...come on, they are the masters of engineering! Ive sketched up a few ideas and will set it in motion. Later on I will post these as well...good times lay ahead.

Some Terrain Goodness

At this time I am working on several pieces of terrain. One in particular I wanna talk about is a hillside defense piece. It comes with a handy dandy broken down ruins, a hasty dug trench and a cut out area where (heres the catcher) you can interchange either Fences(for the fantasy/older war games) or barbed wire strands(for WW2 or anything more modern, apocolyptic) use. I got some pics taken in its first phase form and I will get those bad boys up soon.

As promised here are the beginning stages of the terrain piece I am cooking up.

Meandering around.

Every once in awhile I will wonder around the internet and see what I can find. I look at people sites for inspiration and just general ideas on certain things I am working on. Never hurts to have a "new" set of eyes for a project you are working on.

I happened to stumble upon this gents website and what a beaut she is. Has great articles on collect a ECW army along with a CSM 40k as well. A free set of rules and other just plain goodness. Heres the link, I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

They Came from the North!

Legend has it that there are still remnants of barbaric Norse Dwarf Clans that still survive on the North Eastern part of Norsca. While most believed they were wiped out by the onslaught of marauding armies of Chaos or surrendered to the way of Chaos itself, worshiping an evil, ancient God.

Yet, there has been rumors of far traveling merchants, Empire patrols or even far roaming Dwarfs looking for the next big vein coming upon large battlefields, only several days old of the followers of Chaos where ambushed and utterly destroyed. While looking around they see no bodies of the fallen opposing army, but every once in a great while they find a finely crafted axe head or mace, that can only be Dwarfen made!

Is it true? Are there still Norse Dwarfs roaming these wild countrysides still fighting to this day to stave off the everpresence of the hordes of Chaos? Get ready, they are still here! They are mad as hell itself!

Word reached Thorgim Wolfbane of a city in the Empire lands being tainted with the curse of Chaos. A huge star fell from the heavens utterly wiping this place from the map! Strange stones were being reported of coming from this start warping everything it touches. This cannot be stood for. For over four centuries High Thane Wolfbane has led the ShadowWolf Clan upon countless raids to thwart the tide of chaos, and he'll be damned if he lets Chaos gain a foothold to the south for his clan to be surrounded on all sides.

High Thane Wolfbane has sent word to neighboring fortresses across the lands of his Clan and called upon thier bravest warriors, runesmiths, and rangers to assemble to him and they will purge the stench of chaos from the Mordheim forever! No matter who gets in thier way, even thier Dwarfen Cousins, Chaos will be purged!

Pirates!

Well here as of late I have been interested more in historical gaming. Since my son is a HUGE Pirate fan, I rushed out and purchased the rules for LotHS and made some pirate purchases from foundry.
Got a few of the swabbies painted up and here they are.
